Phillip Devon Brooks, 60, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2015. He was born on October 9, 1954, the son of Theodore Roosevelt Brooks Sr. and Odessa (King) Brooks.
Phillip graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. In 1973 he served in the U.S. Navy. Upon leaving the Navy he continued his education in California and received a Bachelor's degree.
Phillip is survived by his three Brothers: Darrell Brooks, Timothy Brooks, and Thomas Brooks; Sister: Janel Brooks of Baltimore, MD; Daughter: Felice Brooks; Son: Phillip Devon Brooks, Jr.; Special friend: Linda Johnson. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers: Clifford McElmurry,Donnie L. McElmurry, and Theodore R. Brooks Jr.
Phillip liked to go fishing, play basketball, and go bowling. He loved to cook and be with his family. He was an excellent host, cooking for his family and friends on any occasion.
