Ralph E. Kartheu, age 84, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Bronson at Home Hospice Residence in Battle Creek, MI, with his loving family at his side. Ralph was born on March 19, 1931 in Lincolnwood, Illinios.
He graduated from Covert High School in Covert, Michigan and married Faye Corzine in 1951. They had three children- son Mark Kartheu of Battle Creek, daughter Debby (Jim) Alday of East Leroy, MI and daughter Sheri Roberts of Belleville, MI. Ralph also leaves five grandchildren to cherish his memory- Jennifer (Rob) Askren, Jason (Megan) Alday, Sara (Craig) Briscoe, Cory (Taylor) Roberts, Chelsea Roberts and six great-grandchildren- Alexis, Regan, William, Amy, Colin, Liam and sister, Phreddie (Bob) Dumdie of Florida.
He served with honor in the US Air Force attaining the rank of Staff Sgt. Ralph graduated from the Michigan State Police Academy in 1956 and retired in 1983 as Detective Sgt at the Battle Creek post. He was a member of the Battle Creek VFW and American Legion Post 298. Ralph enjoyed golf, bowling and helping his family repair almost anything. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Faye of 63 years and his parents Fay and Evelyn Vincent.
