Obituary for Sylvia Sliver Gordon

Sylvia Sliver Gordon was born February 3, 1949; she was called home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2016. She and her husband James E. Gordon came from Oxford, Mississippi to Michigan together. She leaves behind a special and best friend James (Jimmy) Gordon. Also surviving are her 4 children, Cheryl (Randy) Mitchell, James (Angela) Patton, Monica (Arthur) Gordon and Emmitt (Elizabeth) Gordon, she had also 3 special grandkids she raised as her very own, and Dominique, William and Alexis Gordon, and she had Great Grand children. Also surviving her brother William (Billy) Jones, and her sisters Erma, Oralee, Alice, Verlene and Floyd Patton She is joined in heaven with her mother and father Emmitt and Lacie McGlown and her sister Mary Ann Carter.
She has always been a great mother and Grandmother! She graduated from Millerstone Adult Education and then went to Kellogg Community College to get her associates degree in Data Processing and from there she held jobs working with the public. She retired from the Federal Center, working through connections.
She loved to cook for her family and others. She loved listening to her music, especially the “Williams Brothers”. She loved us through her food. She also made a mean batch of tea. Sexy momma Cheryl said she loves you and you’ll continue to go shopping and she continue to give KoKo, KiKi, and Man Man candy.
