Obituary for Jean Arlene Huling

Jean Arlene Huling, 85, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, at The Laurel's of Bedford . She was born in Sturgis, Michigan, on June 16, 1930, the daughter of Hershel Rosine and Joyce (Royer) Rosine.
She was married to Robert (Bob) G. Huling for 48 years. They shared life together, raising three boys, house boating, buying and selling at flea markets, and ballroom dancing in their later years. Bob preceded her in death in 2001.
Jean regularly volunteered at Mercy Pavilion nursing home. She was proud to be the first woman crossing guard for Lakeview Schools starting in the early 1970's and continuing for many years. Jean was an avid Bingo player. She loved refinishing antique furniture and painting just about anything. For many years she liked exercising and was proud to have met Richard Simmons. One of her favorite ways to exercise was line dancing. She and Bob enjoyed ballroom dancing weekly at the Burnham Brook center for several years. She loved having dogs at home with her. Her grandchildren were a special part of her life. She hosted countless sleepovers, made donut runs, and played games for hours on end.
Jean is survived by her three Sons, Martin J Huling, Randy G Huling, and David L (Lori) Huling, all of Battle Creek, MI, her two Granddaughters, Sarah L Huling and Hannah L Huling of Battle Creek, MI, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Robert Huling, Father, Hershel Rosine, Mother, Joyce (Royer) Rosine, Sisters, Wanda O'Connell, Dorothy O'Connell, and her identical twin sister, Joyce Griffin.
