Russell Newton Cohen, 81, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. He was born on October 25, 1934, the son of Raymond R. Cohen and Nena Alden (Varney) Cohen.
Russ was a 1954 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He was employed at Grand Trunk Rail Road and then at Kellogg's for 31 years until retiring in 1991. He was a driver for local auto dealers for over 20 years.
Russ is survived by his Daughter, Cheryl (Paul) Herrington of Battle Creek, MI; Son: Russell (Paula) Cohen II of Columbus, OH; Granddaughters: Kristina (Anthony) Roe, Cynthia (Kurt) McKenzie, Katrina Herrington, Cassandra Cohen and Sophia Cohen; Great Grandchildren: Parker, Lily-Kate, Tyler & Kendall and Sister: Bonnie Jean Maloy. He was preceded in death by his Parents; his Wife of 56 Years: Carolina (Ramon) Cohen; 3 Brothers & 3 Sisters.
Russ enjoyed golfing, traveling, reading, watching sports and formerly painting houses. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of First Assembly of God, Springfield Lions Club and 25 Year Club at Kellogg's..
