Obituary for Quincy Ike Freeman

Quincy Ike Freeman, 57, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016 at home. He was born on May 27, 1959, the son of David I. Freeman and Jessie Lee (Wilkins) Freeman.
Quincy graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. He worked mainly in construction most of his life, most recent for Miller Pipeline. He had a passion for cars and was a member of Inner City Players and Cereal City Mini car clubs. In July, he was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on 5561 East Morgan Road, Battle Creek, MI.
Quincy is survived by his wife of 6 years - Flora Lee (Truss) Freeman of Battle Creek, Michigan; three sons, Quincy H. Freeman, Troy Hunter, and Leodis (Kia) Williams; five daughters, Lesha (Rachi) Hall, Charleeta (Jamal) Bradley, Zena Hollis, Mildred Harrington, and Rozetta Felder; Grandchild; Ja'Zevion Evans and 10 others; two sisters, Starling (Alfred) Jones of Battle Creek, MI, and Denise (Harold) Kemp of Grand Rapids, MI; three brothers, Bernard (Daphne) Williams of Atlanta, GA, David (Judy) Freeman of Battle Creek, MI, and Joseph (Sandra) Freeman of Battle Creek, MI; three brother-in-laws, Fred (Tina) Truss, Terry (Charlotte) Truss, and Earnest (Dee) Truss; mother-in-law, Callie C. Truss and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wardell Williams and Duane Freeman; sister, Paulette Freeman and a grandchild, Little Jackie.
He loved music from country to jazz and blues. Quincy loved food, particularly gathering people together for a great BBQ. He enjoyed Bible studies, going to the movies, and traveling. He loved his friends and family and spending quality time with them. He was a great man; always doing good for others. Quincy will be deeply missed by all the lives he touched. The family would like to say thank you for the food, cards, and phone calls.
