Obituary for Allen Steve Asher

Allen Steve Asher, 83, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at his home. He was born on February 24, 1933, the son of Bige Asher and Nancy Jane (Fields) Moore.
Allen served as a tank driver in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at Eaton Corporation and later retired from Kellogg Community College in 1995.
Allen is survived by his Wife of 59 years - Lillian Helen (Wellington) Asher of Battle Creek, Michigan. Daughters, Sheri (Earnest) Arredondo of Battle Creek, MI; Penny (Steve) Young of Battle Creek, MI; Bonnie (Robert) Burd of Battle Creek, MI; Connie (Terry) Soule of Battle Creek, MI; Son, Gary Asher of Delton, MI. Fourteen Grandchildren, William "Billy" (Laine) Courtright, Shannon (Mike) Wedl, Adrianne Arredondo, Brea Arredondo, Lyndsey (Brett) Bartell, Juan (Christy) Ramos II, Jessica Ramos, Trisha (Stanley) Wilson, Stephen Young II, Stephanie (Antonio) Plair, Stephen Asher, Lauren Asher, Angelica Burd, Ceirra Burd; and 21 Great Grandchildren. Two Brothers, Rex Asher and Eddie Asher. He was preceded in death by his Father, Bige Asher, Mother, Nancy Jane (Fields) Moore. Brothers, Hillard Asher, Watt Asher, McKinley "Mack" Asher, William "Jessie" Asher, Ardill Asher, James Pearl Asher.
Allen enjoyed playing cards, camping, singing, playing music, playing guitar, reading the Bible and playing horseshoes. He was a minister at the Heath Street Church of Christ and was in the Harvesters gospel group. They did prison ministry and ministered at the Haven of Rest and held services for persons with disabilities.
