Obituary for LaRue Susan Willbur

LaRue Susan Willbur, 97, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 at her home. She was born on July 26, 1919, the daughter of Clarence Earl Heckathorn and Viola Angelline (Wick) Heckathorn.
LaRue had worked as a tour director with the Annett Tours in Sebring, Florida for 23 years, retiring in 2003. Previously she has been a social director at the Lake Placid (Florida) Campground for 12 years, worked for Howard's Hobby Shop in Battle Creek for 13 years and during WWII worked at Duplex Printing Company as a welder.
LaRue is survived by her daughter, Penny (Walter) Herwarth of Battle Creek, MI; Sons, James (Nancy) Willbur of Ft. Myers Beach, FL and Jack (Marlene) Willbur of Savannah, GA; 8 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her Husband, Kenneth Willbur, Brother, Everett Heckathorn and Grandson, Steven Herwarth.
She recieved her education in the Darke County Schools in Ohio. She was a former member of the Lakeside Baptist Church and currently a member of Pleasantview Family Church. She was the first president of the Delton-Kellogg Schools band boosters. She has enjoyed working on various crafts, participating in social activities, and enjoyed traveling to all 50 states.
