Obituary for William Edward Tatroe

William Edward  Tatroe
William "Bill" Edward Tatroe, 90, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at his home. He was born on November 19, 1924, the son of Denzil Edward and Ima (Sisson) Tatroe.
Bill was a graduate of Lee High School in Grand Rapids and Michigan State University. He served in the US Army airborne division during WWII. He retired from the Battle Creek Federal Center in 1987. He had also worked with the Job Corp helping troubled youth. He formerly was employed at Jacobson's, KCC, and Battle Creek Enquirer.
Bill is survived by his Wife of 31 years: Joan Joyce (McNally) Tatroe of Battle Creek, MI; Daughter: Gayle (David) Wright of Battle Creek, MI; Son: Kent Tatroe of Eaton Rapids, MI; Step-Daughters: Kay (Duane Henderson) Morris of Battle Creek, MI and Luann (Harold Penley) Morris of Cookville, TN; Step-Sons: Kevan (Dawn) Morris of Burlington, MI and Jay Morris of Sunrise, FL; Grandchildren: Gregory (Ruthann Brown) Talbott of Battle Creek, MI, Christie (Daniel) Shackell of Doylestown, PA, Ross (Sarha Gosselin) Talbott of Orion, MI, Tricia Feasel of Lansing, MI, Kent (Stacey) Tatroe of Kalamazoo, MI and Jillane (Jason) Wallace of Portage, MI; Step-Grandchildren: Jarrod (Melissa) Blair of Coldwater, MI, Eric Blair of Coldwater, MI, Heather (Jason) Miller of Texas, Kristina Penley of Cookville, TN, Ryan (Holly) Morris of Battle Creek, MI, Anna (Jonah) Herr of Burlington, MI, Kyle Morris of Milwaukee, WI, Morgan (Rob) Hickman of Sunrise, FL and Sara (Josh) Espinosa of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; 15 Great-Grandchildren & 16 Step-Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; his First Wife: Irene Joyce (Adrianse) Tatroe; Son: Craig William Tatroe; Daughter: Cindy Joy Tatroe and Sister: Marjorie Jensen.
Bill was a graphic artist and enjoyed making birthday cards for his family, playing tennis when he was younger, dancing. He illustrated books for Art Fettig for many years. He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren play sports. He had a local television show called the "Phil & Bill Show" where he played music. He was a member of the Burnham Brook Center for the last 15 years..
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Wednesday May 20, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 3:00 pm.
