James Fay Chantrenne, 78, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born on March 6, 1937, the son of Oscar E. Chantrenne and Genevieve (Haug) Chantrenne.
Jim graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1955 and married his wife Ruth in 1956. He began working at Post Cereal in 1958 until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the 25 year club. Jim and his wife were members of the Ft. Custer Christian Assembly.
Jim is survived by his Wife of 59 years - Ruth Ellen (Hiatt) Chantrenne; four Children, Linda Secor, Rick (Susan) Chantrenne, Sherry Whiteside, and Paul (April) Chantrenne; 9 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren and a Brother, Oscar Chantrenne. He was preceded in death by his parents and his Sister, Kay Jacobs.
Jim was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and riding motorcycles. He was a family man and loved to bring his family together for the holidays. He enjoyed spending his spare time with his grandchildren. Jim had a big heart and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
