Betty Virginia  McGee
Betty Virginia McGee, 85, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at home. She was born on February 2, 1931, the daughter of Luvena Swan.
Betty was a member of the Eastern Star faithfully for 26 years. She worked at Ft. Custer Job Corp for 10 years as a cook. She was a cook at Ann J. Kellogg Elementary and loved her work. She enjoyed the children and providing lunches for them.
Betty is survived by her children, Charles Leonard McGee, Jr. of MI, Gwendolyn Kay (James L.) Jones of GA; Ronald Eugene McGee of CA, Dona Nelson, Michael (LaShon) McGee of Battle Creek, MI; 11 Grandchildren, Randy (Mary) Blythe, Monique (Austin) Simons, Marko McGee, Ronnie (Vera Morales) McGee, Catrina Harvey, Brandon McGee, Rhea McGee, Bettina Jones, Jamel Jones; Brother, William (Mitzi) Swan of MO; Nephew, Robert "Uncle Junior" Greene; special grandchild, Amari Evil and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her Mother, and Husband, Charles McGee Sr..
Betty loved going fishing with her kids. She loved to crochet and make blankets for the family. She enjoyed doing word searches and crossword puzzles. Betty was a food connoisseur and she loved to cook and eat. She loved Joe's Crab Shack and Red Lobster. In her younger years, she loved to travel. Betty truly enjoyed living her life and she loved the people in her life. She had a heart of gold and she will be missed dearly by all those who knew her.
