Obituary for Sharon Mae Markos

Sharon Mae Markos
Sharon Mae Markos, 74, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Sparrow Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on July 10, 1942, the daughter of Winford Mahoney and Thelma (Dyer) Mahoney.
Sharon graduated from Lakeview High School. She enjoyed playing sports in high school. After school she went to work for Kellogg's for 10 years before starting her family and becoming a stay at home mother. She also volunteered at Verona Elementary School as a lunch lady for many years and managed Trim a Size tanning salon for 25 years.
Sharon is survived by her Husband of 48 years - Paul Markos; three Sons, Anthony (Maria) Markos, Matt (Angie Olson) Markos, and Todd (Lynnette) Markos; Brother, Wendell (Sue) Mahoney; Grandchild, Evan Markos; special Grandchildren, Nate Wilson, Heather Wilson, Jordyn Beatty, Zach Olson, and Hailey Olson; close friends, Cathy, Sally, Suzie, Glenda, Priscilla, countless others and her beloved Cat, Molly. She was preceded in death by her parents and Sister, Donna (Abner) Hayes.
Sharon absolutely adored her family and friends. She enjoyed the many family trips to Vero Beach and Lake Whales, Florida with her kids and husband. They also loved to go camping and fishing together as a family up north. She loved baseball and was a lifelong CUBS fan. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and working crossword puzzles. Sharon was a wonderful woman with a heart of gold; she always had so much energy and never had it in her to complain. She will be missed dearly by all the lives she touched. Sharon was a lifelong animal lover and would appreciate any contributions be made to the Calhoun County Animal Center.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 4:00 pm.
