Gerald DeeShon Stokes, 30 years old, of Battle Creek, Michigan went to be with the Lord on Monday September 19, 2016 at home. He was born on July 26, 1986. Gerald is the son of Willie Frank Stokes Sr. and Gwen Elaine (Bryant) Stokes.
Gerald attended Battle Creek Public Schools. Gerald was baptized at an early age in Jesus name by the late Pastor Ollie Mae Rudolph. Gerald loved spending time with his family especially his niece and nephews, going on midnight runs to the neighborhood gas station buying cappuccino. He enjoyed playing Spades, Trouble, Uno, Casino, Dominos, Coon Can, pulling over nighters with nephew playing video games and he also was a movie fanatic.
Gerald is survived by his parents Willie Frank Stokes Sr. and Gwen Elaine (Bryant) Stokes; sisters Callena and Kimberly Stokes; brothers Michael and Willie Frank Stokes Jr.; maternal grandmother Rosemary Bryant; niece Nia Carr; nephews Callen Carr and Willie Frank Stokes III; special cousins Alfonzo (Teen) Bryant and Jason LeNoir, Denise Croom, Maurice Curtis, John Johnson, Rodney Davis, Timothy (Moochie) Stokes; host of 6 aunts, 5 uncles and many cousins.
Gerald was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather William Cullen Bryant Sr.; his paternal grandmother Callena Johnson and his nephew Caleb Newson.
