Arvella Doris Phelps, 80, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. She was born on October 7, 1936, the daughter of William Lester Miller and Mary Ellla (Pursell) Miller.
Arvella attended Battle Creek Public Schools. She worked at Community Hospital for over 30 years as an X-ray Clerk.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Doug) Selvidge; grandchildren, Jason (Jessica) Selvidge and Melissa (Ken) Chestolowski; great-grandchildren, Jade, Daryn, Annie, Maddy, and Ally; brother, William (Jackie) Miller; sister, Connie Freds and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lawrence Miller, and sister, Ethel Barney.
Arvella enjoyed gardening, bowling, traveling up north and ride the dune buggies with her family. She loved to spend time with her family but her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were amongst her favorite. Her memories will be held dearly by all the lives she touched throughout her years. A small gathering of her family will take place at a later date.
