Desma Darlene Friel, 63, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at her home. She was born on November 8, 1953, the daughter of Gordon Richard Lowe and Virginia Ramona (Frost) Lowe.
Desma was the manager of housekeeping at Gull Lake View Golf Course for 18 years until retiring in 2016.
Desma is survived by her Husband of 18 years, Danny Ray Friel of Battle Creek, MI; Son, Vince (Sarah) Hinman of Battle Creek, MI; Daughter, Salina (Robert) Tackett of Battle Creek, MI; Step-Daughters, Shannon (Clay) Deplanche of Battle Creek, MI, Amy (Greg) Katz of Union City, MI and Andrea (Keith) Tate of Battle Creek, MI; Grandchildren, Lia, Noah, Alyia, Hannah, Shaylynn & Garett; Step-Grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Lyndsey, Brady & Peyton; Brother, David Lowe of Battle Creek, MI; Sisters, Debbie Lowe of Delton, MI, Darla Cook of Battle Creek, MI and Davena (John) Lehrky of Battle Creek, MI; Friend, Joseph Knighten; Several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father and Sister, Darcel Lowe.
Desmas entire world was about being a mother and a grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She attended Fairfax Community Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher.
Visitation will be held at the Ft Custer Christian Assembly, 301 Custer Drive on Saturday December 10, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Ft Custer Christian Assembly, 301 Custer Drive, on Saturday, December 10, 2016, 5:00 pm with Rev. Robert G. Muirhead of Ft. Custer Christian Assembly and Pastor Roxie Perry of Fairfax Community Baptist Church.
