Karen graduated from Marshall High School in 1971. After high school she perused her dreams of being an artist. She used to own and operate a stained glass studio called "Hand of the Man."

Karen was a bit of a workaholic and loved the work she did in stained glass. She was always an animal lover and enjoyed keeping dogs as pets. In her younger years she loved visiting her grandparents cottage up north with her cousins. She was a warm spirit and she will be missed by all the lives she has touched through her time.
