Jolyn Marie Hannah, 72, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 7, 2017. She was born on December 12, 1944, the daughter of William E. Johnson and Helen (Atkinson) Horton.
Jolyn graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. She worked at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, Eaton Corp and eventually went to wrights beauty academy; She worked as a cosmetologist until her retirement in 2008. After her retirement she was devoted to the care of her mother and grandmother.
Jolyn is survived by her daughter, Damita Hannah; brother, Richard Foxe and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Gene Horton, great-grandmother, Winona Atkinson, sister, Jeri Atkinson, brothers, Michael Foxe, Terrence Atkinson, and Derek Horton.
She loved spending time with her family. Jolyn loved flowers and gardening along with listening to music.
A funeral service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Friday, January 20, 2017, at 11:00 am.
Interment will take place in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
