Bruce James Barrus, 74, of Springfield, Michigan, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 2, 1943, the son of John Pershing Barrus and Evelyn Jane (LaBarr) Barrus.
Bruce honorably and proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Seabee.
Bruce is survived by his Wife of 42 years - Christina (Hoard) Barrus of Springfield, Michigan; Daughter, Tonya Barrus; Two Grandchildren, Korey (Jessica) Barrus and Paige (Travis) Favorite; three great-grandchildren, Bentley Curtis, Izabella and Xavier Favorite and sisters and a brother. He was preceded in death by his Father, John Pershing Barrus, Mother, Evelyn Jane Barrus.
Bruce enjoyed the outdoors. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed hiking with his wife Tina, and friends. He especially loved spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren. His family was his world, and he loved making memories with them.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2017 from 1:00-4:00 pm, at 6357 Markham Lane, Battle Creek, MI 49014.
