Obituary for Julie Ann Meinert

Julie Meinert passed away suddenly on Wednesday evening in her home. Julie was born in Albion, Michigan in 1968 and resided in Marshall, Michigan for the younger part of her life. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1986.
She was a waitress for many years, working at Shuler's, Porter's Steakhouse, The Capri Drive In and the Tek-Khi. Later, she worked as a bus driver and a lunch lady at Harper Creek. "Ms. Julie" was known for having a special bond with kids. She especially connected with kids of trauma and troubled lives.
She is preceded in death by her Adoptive Parents, Pat and Arkie Meinert, her Adoptive Brother, Stephen, along with her Biological Father, Gary McCowan.
She is survived by, her Biological Mother, Jan McCowan, her Children, Leif and Karley, her Children's Father, Austin Widemon. She is also survived by her Brother, David Meinert and family, her Sisters, Jennifer McCowan-Knapper, Courtney Shorter (Chad), and her 6 nieces and nephews, Bailey, Brendan, Christian, Jaelon, Landon and Michael.
She loved her kids more than anything in the world. Her social personality lead to many friendships. She love social occasions and often put together family events.
Her loved ones, friends and co-workers often spent time laughing with her because of her quick wit and humor.
She was an animal lover and often spent time snuggling and loving her dogs Kookie and Blue.
A memorial service will be held at Marshall United Methodist Church, 721 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068, on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Melany Chalker officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the memorial service.
