Obituary for James Ray Williams
James Ray Williams, 85, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born on January 20, 1933, the son of Harvie Douglas Williams and Dorothy Irene (Payne) Williams.
Jim attended Battle Creek Public Schools and then Blackett School. He served in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1993 from Hughes Aircraft.
Jim is survived by his Sons, Thomas (Patty) Williams, Timothy (Nancy) Williams, James (Kathy) Williams and Tony (Tracy) Williams; Step-Sons, Bruce (LueAnn) Skaggs, James Williams Jr. and Kevin (Janice) Skaggs; Step-Daughter, Lora Poucher; Numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren & Great-Great Grandchildren; Brother, Charlie Williams; Sisters, Virginia Babas and Mary (Harold) Rhoades. He was preceded in death by his Parents, his Wife, Artis Marie (Benoit) Williams, Former Wife, Mary Edna (Miller) Weeks, Daughter, Sheila Ortiz and Step-Son, John Skaggs.
Jim enjoyed working with his hands, camping, playing games and loved time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He attended Overflow Ministries and was a volunteer for many organizations.
